Smokey Holler Tree Farm, LLC.
“2005 National Grand Champion Tree Grower providing the Official White House Christmas Tree”
“Smokey Holler Tree Farm began in 1972 when Earl and Betsy Deal planted our first Fraser fir Christmas trees in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Through decades of hard work and environmental stewardship our farm has grown and thrived. The second generation of Deals (Buddy) now runs the day to day operation of the farm.
Through Buddy’s efforts we won the North Carolina Grand Champion Christmas Tree Contest in 2002 and had the honor of sup-plying the tree for the Rotunda and Governor’s office in the Old State Capital in Raleigh, North Carolina. We then represented North Carolina in the National Christmas Tree Association Contest in 2004. Our Fraser fir was bestowed Grand Champion by the judges and attendees at the National Convention.
This honor allowed us to represent the Nation’s Christmas Tree Growers in supplying the Blue Room Tree at the White House in 2005. A dream of over 30 years come true.”
